Legalize it, Don't Crticize it

Humm, is marijuana really all that different than a cocktail, glass of beer or wine?

Peter Tosh would say, "legalize it, don't criticize it." In a double dose of justice, we could eliminate a large part of the drug problem and substantially increase taxable income by legalizing pot. Make it like alcohol and tax the hell out of it and in one fell swoop, you have cut away a huge amount of necessary enforcement expenses, release all folks connected on marijuana busts from jail, and do some serious debt reduction by taxing it big time. People who want the good stuff will pay for it...they do it now illegally anyway.

Incidentially, why is the government wanting to get into the business of prosocuting sick people?

Slice:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The federal government has the power to prevent sick patients from smoking home-grown marijuana that a doctor recommended to relieve chronic pain, a divided U.S. Supreme Court ruled on Monday in a setback for the medical marijuana movement.
