Playing Politics With Elementary School Children Again

Looks like the Shrub and Mrs. Shrub were playing politics again with school age children yesterday. Is it me, or is any one else getting tired, and well, really sick and tired of politicians foisting themselves on "the people" in order to make a political point? Clinton did this a lot too. I didn't like it then either. Moreover, I question as to whether it's an effective and good expense of taxpayer dollars, not to mention disruptive to the day for each and every person that caters to this type of event.

Certainly, you could argue it was educational to have the students meet the President, but that was not the point of his visit. It was to speechify, and here's one slice of his message:
We al know that schools are at the very center of every child's life. And the routine of going to school gives children a sense of comfort that's more important than ever for boys and girls who have endured trauma. The sooner children are back in their own school, the happier and healthier they'll be.
Excuse me, but I thought that Family was the very center of every child's life. Isn't that one of the staples of republican party "values?"

It was so good I had to say it twice?

Same post, twice, windspike. 9:40AM.

Duplicate posting is easy to do. (I've done it.)

Ha. Seeing W. and his hag of a wife when they are at such impressionable ages is about as bad a trauma for children as being displaced by Katrina...

The other day my 7 year old said he told his teacher the President was a lier. "He said that there were bombs and then there weren't any." His teacher is a Republican holy roller and was surprised to hear this.. lol
