Poetry

Gun-Toting Liberal has a great poem posted today. Go have a look. Here's the last two lines:
...Mingle in selfish strife, lo! Freedom weeps,
Wrong rules the land and waiting Justice sleeps.

freedom does weep while justice does sleep.

I would say not much longer, but I refuse to get my hopes up

101 Uses For A Dead Marine : Use No. 101

"Yesterday I stood at Arlington National Cemetery attending the funeral of a young marine in my district. He believed in what we were doing is the right thing and had the courage to lay his life on the line to do it. A few minutes ago I received a call from Colonel Danny Bop, Ohio Representative from the 88th district in the House of Representatives. He asked me to send Congress a message: Stay the course. He also asked me to send Congressman Murtha a message, that cowards cut and run, Marines never do. Danny and the rest of America and the world want the assurance from this body – that we will see this through." - Rep. Jean Schmidt (R-OH)

Did Schmidt have any knowledge of what the dead marine thought about the war? She doesn't quote him, which would be much stronger than an argument from authority. How many of Schmidt's immediate family has she convinced to serve?

The use of testimony that can't be rebutted, even if true, is suspect. Here, shameless.
