Rather than the usual political diatribe, I thought I would share some of my favorite shots from my trek last weekend to Joshua Tree and then to the top of Mt. San Jacinto. Enjoy.

Our son tells me that there is very good climbing up near this mountain, at the Tarquiz and Suicide areas. He said San Jacinto is right out of Palm Springs; yes?

Sorry for the delay in reply. Been busy with out of town guests -trotting them to the usual places.
Yes, Jacinto is right on the edge of Palm Springs. We took the tram up to 8K and walked/snowshoed the remainder up to near 11K. Thin air up there, but the beauty is worth it (as KC indicates).
Aparently the walk from the bottom is very do-able, but we were in a pinch for time that day, needing to return to home base. Saving that for another trek, another time.
