Reading Versus Comprehension

For some reason, I'm feeling philosophical at this time of the day. It occurs to me that there is a large difference between reading and comprehension.

My rationale for stipulating such a commonsensical statement is that I am mystified as to why there are some folk who still support the W, Rove and Co. They must not be able to read between the propaganda to gather what path this administration is really taking the American people down. Sure it looks rosy if you have the standard issue GOP rose colored glasses. Take them off and what we see is something that looks more like the road to hell than the way to salvation.

This leads me to the following question: Call this...wait for it...drum roll please....
Windspike's Philosophical Sunday Conundrum

Which is worse: A) hearing but not listening, or B) Listening but not hearing? Explain.

Listening but not hearing is worse, because you want something but cannot have it.

Hearing but not listening is not as bad, because you can, perhaps, be hypnotized to recall the information which, once heard, is lodged in your subconcious, waiting to be retrieved.
