The Fact That He Thinks This Is Saying Something

Interestingly, many on the reiching W, Rove and Co protectorate, suggest that we are fools for thinking race had anything to do with the poor response to the Katrina mess. My thought is that it is a classic case of institutionalized economic racisism perpetrated by the usual suspects. Take a look at the once thriving city of Detroit for another good example.

Really, the fact that one person articulates the notion is cause enough for really working through some of the very troubling racial divisions in our country. Again, we see abstinance does not work. Simply refusing to talk about the issue will not will it away.

Slice:
A celebrity telethon for Hurricane Katrina survivors took an unexpected turn when outspoken rapper Kanye West went off script during the live broadcast, declaring America is set up "to help the poor, the black people, the less well-off as slow as possible."

..."I hate the way they portray us in the media. If you see a black family, it says they're looting. See a white family, it says they're looking for food." While allowing that "the Red Cross is doing everything they can,"

West — who delivered an emotional outburst at the American Music Awards after he was snubbed for an award — declared that government authorities are intentionally dragging their feet on aid to the Gulf Coast. Without getting specific, he added, "They've given them permission to go down and shoot us."

After he stated, "George Bush doesn't care about black people," the camera cut away to comedian Chris Tucker.

Yes, they call us (who think it is an issue of race) "race baiters". That is because the racism is so inherent in what they do and the way they behave, they DON'T SEE IT. It's amazing that white people "find" food, while black people "loot" for food. OUTRAGEOUS

If thy be poor thy brother hateth thee.
