Lucky for me, the spouse finally followed through and returned from work early on Thursday and Friday (this was to account for spending the whole of last weekend working for the co.).
As it turns out, Thursday was a rather flukey day. Up and down winds to about 20. So, it was a big sail day (5.4) and big fin. There was a large strip of wind just off shore at the Crissy launch but the flood made it challenging to stay in the wind. Still got about an hour on the water.
Friday was much more consistent, but with required the same light wind set up - 5.4, big fin, and the 85 liter board. The wind was powered and good for about the first hour - the key was to get on the water early, but as usual, a lot of folks stood around with their thumbs up their noses waiting for more wind instead of rigging for what was out there. I, on the other hand, with a limited window got out early sailed for an hour and pulled out. The folks just getting on the water were at the cusp of getting very frustrated as the wind started to fall about later in the day.
Saturday and Sunday gave us yet another unstable weather system aloft and so we got skunked again. Although, on Sunday, if you were rigged and ready to go on the beach, you could have gotten out for an hour or so. But, you would have had to of had the time to stand around waiting for the winds to ramp up with your gear all ready for the moment it clicked on. Sure enough it was about only an hour window. I wasn't on the beach either day. Like I said, lucky to get out Thursday and Friday.
This week, the ebb cycle sets up for a potentially good week. Wind permitting....

Always wanted to try windsurfing, but I am terrible at athletics and would likely break my neck :)
Hey, Mox, you might like to try a little Kite surfing then...it's a little less complicated - well, now, scratch that. It is a tad more dangerous.
