"Pray For Peace"

This is an age old question, but deserves rehashing given the latest proclamation by the W. Can you simultaneously pray for peace and wage war and expect anything but more war?
NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim Memorial Day, May 29, 2006, as a day of prayer for permanent peace, and I designate the hour beginning in each locality at 11:00 a.m. of that day as a time to unite in prayer.
Well, something tells me the prayer won't work, but that's just me reflecting on the president, yet again, asking us all to participate in a national charade. Leading by faith is not enough for me. I require my president to lead by decisions to action based fact, not fiction. Is that so much to ask?

Some one refresh my memory. What's that lesson from the bible that suggests you get what you give?

Well, screw the bible, and all the assholes who are twisting it, misusing it, misquoting it, flogging it in their evil hypocritical ways. Makes me want to beat them over the head with a particularly large version of it.
They've diluted and detroyed it.

The bible is nothing more than a thesaurus for these asshats. They look up a word and find something that they think equates religious values to the praying public. Exactly how much bible reading do you think any of these clowns do? Lets ask Tommy boy after he bunks with bubba in Texas.

Please... Saddam was by no means a peaceful dictator. Avoiding war with that man was not maintaining peace, since it was only enabling him to continue his violent ways.

Your blind trust in "peace," is disturbing. Your simple, one-dimensional view of it is doubly so. Most disturbing of all, though, is your inability to practice this peace you so worship.

I'm glad to see you're so tolerant of opposing viewpoints. No doubt we will all be inspired to tolerate others, after reading these comments. Great job leading by example.

2 Q for 'neofascist?'

1. Is G W Bush, Saddam's replacement, doing better for the women of Iraq?

2. Winston Churchill said, 'Jaw, jaw, is better than war, war.' Was Churchill wrong?
