Fiscal Restraint

I enjoyed this last paragraph in one of today's NYtimes editorials:
There was a time that the Republican Party stood for fiscal restraint, but that boat has long since left the dock. Now, as its leaders prepare to inflate the deficit even more, the least they could do is refrain from pretending they care.

Geat Quote...and yup..I am shocked that they really don't care...our poor Economy has indeed been given a Enema by "people" who I guess were already morally bankrupt so I guess we should not be shocked right ?

Yet if you ask Elizabeth Dole, if Democrats take controll of congress, we'll go on a "spending spree."

The Repukes have been trying to convince the world they're the party of fiscal restraint for as long as I can remember, and yet they always go the opposite way. They try to characterize the Dems as "tax and spend liberals", yet the Repukes are the party of "spend and spend (other people's money)". At least they only claim restraint. If they claimed fiscal responsibility they'd be laughed off the planet.

They are the party of "fiscal restraint"..the folks being restrained are the middle and the working poor.

Expect more of the same before Bush and this Congress leave office

The rule is, Make it while you can. Meaning that the Republican giveaway of the tax commons to their rich supporters will continue as long as they're in office. They have to pave the way to those cushy private jobs on the outside. What better way to put down asphalt than with public money?
