What's The Difference Between Necessary and Unnecessary Politics?

Here's a really telling statement that the President spewed from the Presidential Propaganda Catapult today.
I urge our fellow citizens to understand that harsh language, unnecessary politics sends the wrong message about who we are as a nation.
Not unlike the idea of Activist Judges, politics is in the eye of the beholder isn't it? So, if a judge decides in your favor are they activists? If politics work to your advantage, are they necessary or unnecessary? Wasn't the President's whole speech delivered in front of the Chamber of Commerce all about politics? Was it necessary? More importantly, does anyone know how many taxpayer dollars were expended to get this 35 minute reiteration, redundant and ridiculous message from the president out?

The quote was taken out of context. What it actually said was -

I urge our fellow citizens to understand that harsh language, unnecessary politics sends the wrong message about who we are as a nation...unless of course it's my party doing the talking.
