The Turn of Events

The prize for best opening line for any article on the current turn of events has to do to Allison Benedickt at the Village Voice:
My lady parts do not ache for Hillary Clinton.
Obama is going to kill McSame in the head-to-head. McSame can't get far enough away from Bush to look any different, and with gas at nearly 5 bucks (or more) a gallon in November, he doesn't stand a chance because at this point the Republicans have exactly the country they voted for (twice) - and it's rotting at the GOP core.

The stench won't come out with the usual political laundering, pandering or slandering. The GOP can't blame it on Clinton any more...Obama has a point
But this year’s Republican primary was a contest to see which candidate could out-Bush the other, and that is the contest John McCain won.

One of many comments on the link:

'The Democrats are just spineless idiots. There is no way Hillary Clinton should be the first woman president. The second woman president, maybe. But the Dems should have done their Constitutional duty and impeached Bush and Cheney, which would make Nancy Pelosi the first woman president, TODAY. If Clinton had led the fight to make that happen, I'd joyfully work towards her 2008 election as the second woman president. As it is, she's just another Bush-supporting politico and I'd rather elect someone who opposed Bush's war from the beginning.'

Another comment on the link:

'I'm a 60-ish female Independent... working all my life in an engineering profession. Sexism--tell me about it! (When I wanted to go to college, my state university wasn't even open to women.) So dammit, I hope to live to see a woman as President. But while I deeply sympathize with HRC, for all the catty (and yes, sexist) comments she's had to fend off, I also find her manipulative--and as having run an incompetent campaign. I wouldn't vote for that in a man.'
