Our Great Grandfather

It's hard to know
How great is a grandfather
Until you have
Seen it done properly
Son, brother, husband, father
Grandfather, Great-Grandfather
We will miss you, Grandpa
But your love will last
Through us all

Aaron and the extended Anderson family, what a wonderful tribute to your grandfather, and what wonderful gifts he has given to you all. My thoughts are with you in these times of loss. Tim Derrick

DEAR AARON, SUSAN PRINTED OUT THE MEMORIAL PHOTO'S YOU DID FOR G.PA AND THEY WERE PUT INTO A SLOT IN THE COFFIN AT THE CEMETARY AFTER WE ALL SAID A FEW WORDS. YOU ARE CORRECT IN KNOWING AND SAYING THAT YOUR GRANDFATHER SET A GREAT EXAMPLE. THERE IS GREAT COMFORT IN KNOWING THAT HIS LOVE LIVES ON THROUGH US ALL. WITH MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY FOR THE LOSS OF YOUR GRANDFATHER. IN SADNESS AND WITH LOVE, MOM

I really enjoyed this commentary from Aunt Sandy. I hope you do as well:

My Dear Nieces and Nephews:

There comes a time when our beloved elders are no longer able to withstand the demands of the world, when they have completed what fate has decreed to be
their tasks on earth, and they leave us. When that time is nearing the most we hope is that their passage will be peaceful and pain free. Dibb's going was
peaceful, and we are all grateful for that. That doesn't help the sadness.

We had Weston's wonderful birthday party today and while it was full of cousins and aunts (gosh..I'm one of those..) and little children everywhere, there
was an obvious empty place. Many people find the grief of death especially raw because they have regrets about love unspoken, kindness undone. You,
dear children (I'm an aunt. I can call you that.) have no such regrets.

You were wonderful grandchildren. You loved Dibb, as you did Grace, and he knew it. He reveled in your love, in all your successes, in your very being. You
were thoughtful and generous to him always, and while to you this was just as it should be, there are many who don't take the time or understand the importance of such caring. He loved you and was so proud of you. He was a wonderful grandfather; you were wonderful grandchildren.
No regrets. Sadness for the moment.

Many stories for your children. An inspiring example of what family is all about for all who have witnessed how you loved your grandfather and, indeed, in
how you conduct your lives. I wonder if you know just how exceptional you all are. I wonder if you know how much I love and appreciate you and the way
you warm my being with your affection.

Lucky grandfather. Lucky aunt. Love to
you all, Aunt Sandy
