Bye Bye Ms. American Pie

Unless you are hiding under a rock, you should know now that Sarah Palin has resigned as Governor of the great state of Alaska. Puts new meaning on the phrase "Cut & Run," doesn't it?

Of course, the media circus will have a field day trying to ferret out the real reason Sarah no longer has a taste for public service. Do we really care?

She's finished. At one time I thought Ms. Palin might try but not win any higher office, but that she may have a future on television. Not any more. She's going to be a stain on the GOP and America from this point forward. Like the Grinch, most won't want to touch her with a thirty-nine-and-a-half foot pole.

There are two larger questions here: A) what went wrong with the Republican Party that their national leaders are imploding , and B) what WAS McCain thinking when he tried to elevate this woman to the Veep position?

Blog on friends. Blog on all

P.S. Happy Independence Day.

Palin fires herself in a self-parodying act of political suicide

"Sit down and shut up, ... that's the quitter's way out"

"So Alaska may progress, I will not seek reelection"

"The skills she has are formidable and unteachable," Mark Salter, who was one of McCain's top advisers, said after he heard the news of her resignation.

Sarah Palin is the Michael Jackson of politics . . . her celebrity mostly based on the fact she's so unbelievably weird that people just can't look away. She'd make the USA even a bigger laughing stock than Bush did if some miracle ever landed her in our White House.

I think the fact she touted herself initially to be a "barracuda" and then immediately cried victim and foul the moment anyone questioned, criticized, etc. . . from either the campaign, the public or the press -- simply revealed her to be more guppy than anything else. A guppy with a little bit of an entitlement problem and a failure to finish that which she starts or commits to -- like college. I don't think she did much for women on either side of the aisle in terms of women in government and I still think McCain's people chose her more for the fact she had a vagina and was camera friendly than for having any actual qualifications -- like NUMEROUS Republican politicians who also happen to be female. "Life is all about choices." Really, Sarah? Really?
