Here's an interesting quote from the paperback version (p. 104):
I have noticed that if you look carefully at people's eyes the first five secons they look at you, the truth of their feelings will shine through for just an instant before it flickers away.I know the book is a work of fiction, but is there any truth to this? Perhaps there are some bloggers out there have experiences that verify such a statement. If so, I will thank you to share your story here in the comments.

Gladwell also posts his New Yorker articles.
Interesting. It ties into the theory of first impressions. I generally tend to decide whether or not I trust somebody very early into contact.
